About the Project
As the communities of Kindred, Leonard, Davenport, Walcott, Hickson, and Oxbow continue to grow, so too has our youth baseball program. In 2025 alone, more than 200 youth from our combined communities played on teams supported by our programs, an increase of nearly 30% over the past 6+ years.
This growth is exciting, but it has also created real challenges. Last summer, more than 130 kids across 12 Squirts, PeeWee, and Rookie teams were sharing just two fields. As a result, each team only had access to a real diamond for roughly 50% of their practices, making scheduling difficult and limiting our ability to grow. Without additional field access, and with continued community growth ahead, we could soon face the difficult reality of turning kids away.
That’s why we are excited to publicly launch the KYB Field of Dreams Campaign!
Kindred Youth Baseball has secured 10 acres of land near the existing Progressive Ag fields to build a new youth baseball complex. Phase 1 of construction is planned for summer 2026 and will include:
- 1 new Little League field
- Parking
- Concession stand with bathrooms and storage
- Batting cage
- Infrastructure to support two additional future fields
A site layout showing Phase 1 and Phase 2 plans is included below to help visualize the future complex.

Project Cost & Progress
Phase 1 is estimated at $2.245 million, including land costs.
To date, KYB has secured over $1.64 million in commitments. Of that, $145k has been spent to-date on improvements to existing fields including:
- New expanded agrilime infeld and sodded, irrigated outfield on Gilbertson field.
- Improved agrilime infield on the north little league diamond.
- Improvements with turf upgrades to the main baseball diamond.
All told, we now sit only $700k shy of our goal to fully complete Phase 1.
Why This Matters
This project means:
- More practices on real diamonds.
- Room to grow without turning away kids.
- A facility and community amenity that will serve Kindred for generations to come.
- The ability to host more tournaments and visiting teams, creating economic impact for our community.
